Obituary of Dillon R. Dziedzic
Dillon R. Dziedzic, 24, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Saturday, October 23, 2010 with his girlfriend, Amanda Marotta, by his side.
Dillon was born on August 6, 1986 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. He graduated from Broadalbin-Perth High School in 2004. He was presently attending Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown. He was a cook at Parillo's Armory Grill in Amsterdam.
Dillon will be most remembered for his love of tattoos, his passion for art and music and playing his guitars. He was very talented. His big smile always lit up the room.
Dillon was a true Beatles fan and his favorite Beatle was John Lennon. Dillon loved attending concerts. His favorite time of year was summer. His favorite colors were black, white and purple. He liked camping and traveling, his favorite destination was Cali. He loved his family and was especially close to his mother and maternal grandmother.
He is survived by his mother and best friend, Laurie Cheney Dillenbeck and her fiancé Timothy Stewart of Colonie; his father, Robert J. Dziedzic and his fiancée Tina Shelmandine of Perth; sisters: Danielle Dziedzic Brian Cetnar of Oneonta, Adriana Hills of Colonie and his sister and goddaughter, Brooke Dillenbeck of Colonie; his girlfriend and life partner, Amanda Marotta of Amsterdam; maternal grandmother "Patricia" Anne Leroux Cheney of Perth; maternal great grandmother, Keturah Cheney of Tupper Lake; paternal grandparents: Stanley and Joan Dziedzic of Amsterdam; aunt Sherry Cheney Malley and uncle Terry Malley of Galway; cousins Michelle Adams Chris of Latham; Amanda Malley of East Greenbush; uncle Loren "Chip" and aunt Sue Morrow Cheney; cousins Ann-Marie and Heather Cheney of Broadalbin; uncle Steve Dziedzic and cousin Sarah Dziedzic of Amsterdam; godmother Wendy Reidy of Broadalbin and great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Dillon is predeceased by maternal grandfather Loren F. Cheney, Jr. of whom Dillon was the apple of his eye and maternal great grandfather Loren F. Cheney, Sr.
Friends and family are invited and may call Tuesday, October 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main St. Broadalbin. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
A life touched by Dillon is a life touched forever. His smile, spirit and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
