Obituary of Mabel Steenburg

Mrs. Mabel Steenburg, 86, of Gloversville, passed away Friday October 29, 2010.She was born in Indiana on February 12, 1924, daughter of the late Ira and Flossie Keel. Her family moved to Gloversville when she was a child. Mrs. Steenburg received her education in Gloversville Schools and had been employed for twenty-five years as an inspector at the former MCA in Gloversville. Mabel was an avid bingo player and enjoyed many friendships with all her "bingo" contacts. Her loving family include her children :Frederick Steenburg Jr., Timothy, and Thomas all of Gloversville and Robert of S. Carolina. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mabel was pre-deceased by her husband Frederick Steenburg Sr. whom she married February 14, 1942. She was also pre-deceased by a daughter Gloria Jean Steenburg, a son Gerald Steenburg and three brothers. There will be no calling hours or service. The family would like to thank Mt. Valley Hospice for the support and special care given to Mabel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
