Obituary of Woodrow W. Fletcher
Mr. Woodrow W. Fletcher, age 90, of Gloversville, died Friday morning, October 29, 2010 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home.
He was born at home in the Town of Mayfield on August 7, 1920, the son of the late John Fletcher and Jessie Wert Fletcher. He worked his entire life and later owned the family farm which was once known as Chrystal Springs Dairy.
Woodrow was of Baptist faith.
He is survived by: seven nieces, Loretta Baurle, Pat Stoutner, Gloria Cheney, Kathleen Elmore, Carolyn Rupert, Deborah Rupert and Mildred Fletcher; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Harold and Nelson Fletcher; four sisters, Priscilla Vedder, Martha Rupert, Elvira Fletcher and Charlotte Fletcher; a nephew, Howard J. Fletcher and a niece, Phyllis Weideman.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 31 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Community Health Center, 2-8 W. Main St; Johnstown, NY 12095 or to any humane shelter of your choice.
