Obituary of Marion M. Dunham

Marion M. Dunham, 88, of Gloversville, passed away early Monday morning, November 1, 2010 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. She was born July 13, 1922 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Ralph and Frances Brown Goodemote. She attended Gloversville schools and at the age of fifty attained her GED. Marion worked at the old Nathan Littauer Hospital as a nurse's aide and was instrumental in helping to move the hospital from Littauer Place to the new location on East State Street. She later worked at Central Supply and at Grandoe Gloves as a maker and packer. On March 6, 1942, she married Stanley Dunham, who predeceased her in 1982. Together they shared over forty wonderful years together. Marion enjoyed helping and delivering Meals on Wheels and home care but her passion was her family. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Susan Clute Chris of Gloversville; two granddaughters: Jessica Laska Joseph, Sr. of Perth and Rebecca Heise David II of Bleecker; four great grandchildren: Joseph Laska Jr., Christopher Laska, Susan Laska and David Heise III; a brother, Gary Goodemote Beverly of Iowa; a sister, Beverly Crawford Frank of Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Marion was predeceased by two nieces: Sherie and Norma. Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, November 5, 2010 from noon to 1 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Hamm presiding. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion's memory to the James A. Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to St. Jude's Research Hospital, P.O.Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103.
