Obituary of Genevieve M. Krajewski
Genevieve M. Krajewski, 92, of Anderson Road, passed away Sunday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson R.H.C.F. in Amsterdam after being a patient since November 1, 2010.
Born March 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Jaskulski Kieniewicz. Genevieve was a resident of Rotterdam, NY for 52 years before moving to Sprakers nine years ago and she was a graduate of Knott Terrace High School in Schenectady.
Genevieve was employed as a machinist for General Electric Company in Schenectady, retiring a number of years ago. After her retirement, she became a home health care aide and worked for Alternative Care in Schenectady until the age of 81.
She was a long time and devoted member of the former St. John the Baptist Church in Schenectady and she attended, with her family, the Community Bible Church in Fort Plain, NY while living in Sprakers.
Genevieve was a member of the South Schenectady Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and former den mother of Pack 17 Cub Scouts in Schenectady.
Over the years she enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her family and keeping active.
On August 18, 1940 she married Adolph Rudy Krajewski who passed away in 1974. Survivors include her loving family, two sons, Daniel Anne Krajewski of Bennington, VT and Michael Catherine Krajewski of Sprakers, NY; two sisters Frances Sammler and Josephine Raymond of Schenectady; seven grandchildren Joshua Krajewski of Sprakers, Jeremy Trisha Krajewski of Fultonville, Jennifer Brian Shepard of Schoharie, Tiffany Charles Diamond of Schoharie, Daniel Krajewski of Schoharie, Teresa David Maltz of Long Island and John Corvinelli of Rotterdam; eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Genevieve was predeceased by a brother John Kaniff and a sister Wanda Nolan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Genevieve's memory to NYOH Cancer Center, 1700 Riverfront Center, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
