Obituary of Robert H. Lee
Robert H. Lee, 75, of Manny's Corners Rd. passed away peacefully Monday afternoon at his home.
Born in Franklinville, NY on June 25, 1935, he was the eldest child of Howard and Irma McCaa Lee. Moving to Amsterdam as a child, he was educated in local schools. Bob was employed as the caretaker for St. Michael's Cemetery for a number of years. He was employed as a supervisor for the former Ryan Burial Vault Company and later it's successor, the Fort Miller Company in Amsterdam. He retired in 1995 due to disability. Bob was a member of the Silver Dollars Stable Riding Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On Feb. 28, 1959, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce A. Raymond.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children; William Holly Lee of Amsterdam, Lucinda Robert Reakes of Fort Johnson and Roberta Gregory Heck of Amsterdam; grandchildren; twins, Kendall and Chelsea Lee, Forrest Lee, Pvt. Robert Reakes and Austin Reakes; a sister, Rita Clark of Amsterdam; brothers Thomas Lee of Pottersville, Douglas Lee and Kenneth Lee both of Amsterdam and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will take place Friday at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, in care of the funeral home office, or a charity of choice.
