Obituary of Julia K. Chase
Mrs. Julia K. Chase, 90, of Washington Street, Fultonville died peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2010. Born in Fultonville, NY on March 15, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Carolynn Holliday Donaldson.
A lifelong area resident, Julia attended Fultonville Union Free Schools, and graduated in 1937. She was employed as a glove cutter for Fownes in Amsterdam, NY, retiring in January 1988. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Glen-Mohawk Seniors, the Montgomery County Volunteer Fireman s Ladies Auxiliary and Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union 646T.
On March 23, 1946 she was united in marriage to Clifford B. Chase. That union lasted 36 years until his passing on November 14, 1982. She was also predeceased by her son, Clifford B. Chase, Jr. on March 8, 1951 and two brothers, Harvey J. Donaldson and George B. Donaldson, Sr.
Survivors include two nieces, Rosanna K. Armino and her husband David of Johnstown, NY, and Suzanne M. Luke and her husband Richard of Guilderland, NY; one nephew, George B. Donaldson, Jr. and his wife Cecilia of Johnstown, NY; one sister in law, Helen D. Donaldson of Fultonville, NY; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11 o clock at the Dutch Reformed Church, Corners of 30A and 5s, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Nancy Pullen presiding. Interment will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James Brennan Humane Society or to the church in care of the funeral home office.
