Obituary of Emily Oathout Christopher

Emily Oathout Christopher, age 96, passed away on November 20, 2010, in South Daytona, Fla., A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 54 West Main Street, Broadalbin, N.Y. Her children will greet family and friends beginning at 3 p.m. in the church hall. Emily was born July 17, 1914, in Gloversville, N.Y.. Mother enjoyed quilting, crafts, camping, traveling and the beaches of Daytona and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., She is survived by: four daughters, Mary Louise and her husband, Gordon, Johnston of Morristown, Tenn., Katherine and her husband, Edward, Kemner of Edgewater, Fla., Margaret and her husband, Ralph, Cook of Amsterdam, N.Y., Martha and her husband, George, Persons of Bakers Mills, N.Y.; three sons, Leland Oathout and his wife, Janet, of Edgewater, Fla., Edwin Oathout of Altoona, Fla., and Floyd Oathout and his wife, Paula, of Burga, N.C.; four stepchildren, Elizabeth and her husband, Walter, Mickel of Gallupville, N.Y., Joan Stanton of Fonda, N.Y., John Christopher and his wife, Elaine, of Wayne, Maine, and Mary VanDerwerken of Greensboro, N.C.; and a sister, Agnes Doneburgh and her husband, William, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Emily is also survived by 40 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
