Obituary of Harriet E. Paro

Harriet E. G.G. Paro, 95, of Bullshead Road, was called home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Monday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson R.H.C.F. with her loving family at her side. Born June 29, 1915 in Perth, NY, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Anna Heinz Vickers. She was a life long resident and she attended the Pine Wood School which was a one room school house on Noonan Road in Perth. G.G. was employed by the Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam as a twister and later she worked as a machinist at General Electric Company in Schenectady. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church. G.G. enjoyed playing bingo; going to Turning Stone; raising canaries, one time enjoyed fishing and bowling and she bowled at the age 80. She was married to Chauncey Paro who passed away October 4, 1969. She is survived by her loving family, two sons, Clifton E. Vickers of Perth, NY and Gary A. Paro Lori of the Town of Florida; five daughters, Helena Rackowski of Amsterdam, Patricia A. Iannotti Donald of Amsterdam; Carol Baker Cecil of Tribes Hill, NY, Cheryle Baker Robert of San Antonio, FL and Pamela D. Avery Andrew of Amsterdam; two sisters Gertrude Pickrell of Perth and Barbara Horton of Perth, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. G.G. was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:15 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev Lawrence J. Decker as celebrant. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in G.G. s memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or to charity of one s choice.
