Obituary of Gloria D. Agosta
Gloria Stewart Agosta, 75, of State Highway 67, passed away Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with her loving family at her side.
Born January 8, 1935 in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of the late Irving and Nellie Collins Stewart. She was a life long resident and was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School class of 1952.
Gloria was employed as a waitress for the Tepee Restaurant, Pepe's Restaurant and the Antlers Country Club. Later, she worked as a customer service representative for Traveler's Insurance Company in Albany retiring a number of years ago.
Gloria enjoyed baking, crocheting and knitting. She knitted many blankets for the Albany Medical Hospital Children's Unit. She was very devoted to all of her family, keeping in constant contact with all of her family locally and through e-mail for those out of state. Gloria also took pride in taking care of her late mother Nellie. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Survivors include two sons, James A. Agosta and his wife Debra of Scottsdale, AZ and Mark S. Agosta and his wife Amy of Amsterdam; a daughter, Sheree L. Fernendez and her husband Ramon of Lakewood, CA; a sister-in-law Dolores Fraim of Amsterdam, eight grandchildren, Stacy, Jamie, Katrina, Shawna, Stevie, Sean, Tyler and Collin; seven great grandchildren and several cousins.
A private graveside service will be held in spring at the convenience of the family at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's memory to the Montgomery SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
