Obituary of Rose M. Quattrocchi

Rose Marie Cicatello Quattrocchi, 91, of Knollwood Avenue, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Schenectady on May 13, 1919, she was the last surviving child of the late Dominick and Clorinda Gargiulo Cicatello. Moving to Amsterdam as a child, she attended local schools and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was married to Herman P. Quattrocchi on April 24, 1949. Together they raised two daughters. Prior to the birth of her children, Rose was employed at Amsterdam Printing and Litho. She worked as a homemaker, her primary occupation, until her children were grown, when she took a part time position as a proof reader at the Amsterdam Recorder. She was a parishioner of the former St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, and later Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel, and a member of the St. John's Seniors and St. Michael's Seniors. An avid golfer, Rose loved to read and travel and enjoyed spending time with her loving family, now in its fourth generation. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of forty eight years Herman Sarge on September 17, 1997 and siblings, sister Anne Zumbolo and brothers James, Vincent and Michael Cicatello. She is survived by a loving family; Donna M. and Reid Roberts of Stockton, CA., and Mary Ann and Guy Tomlinson of Amsterdam, granddaughters, Lyssa Roberts of Hermosa Beach CA. and Emily Roberts of Stockton CA., grandsons Daniel Tomlinson Jamie and Edward Alexander Tomlinson and her great grandson Daniel James Tomlinson Jr. all of Amsterdam, and cherished niece, Claudia Holik as well as other nieces, nephews , cousins , sisters and brothers in law. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:15 am at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church, Father John Medwid, celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends this eveningMondayfrom 4-6 pm at the funeral home. It is the family's request that flowers not be sent. Contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery County Office For Aging, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or the Amsterdam Free Library , in care of the funeral home office.
