Obituary of Keith L. Gavrilcukas

Keith L. Gavrilcukas 58, of Academy Street, passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital after becoming ill at his home. Born in Amsterdam on March 22, 1952, the son of the late William and Edna Dubicke Gavrilcukas. He attended East Main Street School and graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1970. Keith was employed by Coleco, Ward Products and Mohawk Finishing. More recently he worked for Amsterdam Print. He was a communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church and was a former member of the American Lithuanian Club and the Sons Of The American Legion. In his youth he played on the Little Giants team. Keith loved to play cards, go to the races and play on his dart team. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan. He leaves his brother, Kenneth R. Linda Gavrilcukas of Gloversville; sister, Donna Gavrilcukas of Amsterdam as well as his nephew Jim Gavrilcukas of Amsterdam and cousins. Services are Wednesday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his name to either Mt. Carmel Memorial Fund or the AMEN Soup Kitchen both in care of the funeral home office.
