Obituary of Andrew R. Hutchins

Andrew R. Hutchins, 82, of Fonda, NY, passed away Tuesday December 21, 2010 at the Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge, NY. He was born March 24, 1928 in Oppenheim, NY a son of the late Fred and Stella Curtis Hutchins. Andrew attended Oppenheim and Dolgeville Schools and worked at the Kasson and Keller Corporation in Fonda for over 50 years in the shipping department retiring in 2005. He married the late Lita Wessell Hutchins in Fort Plain on February 7, 1953. Andrew enjoyed going to various dinners and visiting with friends for hours. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife; Andrew was predeceased by two stepdaughters, Deanna VanAvery and Donna VanAvery; a brother, Charles Hutchins, and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Dumar. He is survived by one daughter, Hope Douglas Williams of Fultonville; two sons, Robert Linda Hutchins of Middleville and Jeffrey Darlene Hutchins of Syracuse. He is also survived by two step-children, Carol Van Avery of Ft. Plain, NY and Daniel Gayle VanAvery of Maine. Fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and several cousins also survive. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00A.M. on Tuesday December 28, 2010 at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday December 27, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A Special thanks to all the staff at the Palatine Nursing Home for all the loving care, friendship and support they gave to Andy and his family during his stay there.
