Obituary of Carmella T. Rocco

Carmella T. Rocco, 89, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with family by her side. Carmella Millie grew up in Port Washington, Long Island with a family of nine brothers and sisters. She worked at Grumman Aerospace Corporation before she left to raise a family. She was an amazing wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She lit up a room with her smile and laughter. She was an amazing cook and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those fortunate to have known her. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband John Rocco whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Left behind to treasure her memory are her daughter, Joanne Sollecito and her husband Larry of Amsterdam, NY; sons, John Rocco of Schenectady, NY, Richard Rocco and Russell Rocco of Lake City, FL; sister, Rose Lucariello of Port Washington, NY; grandchildren, Jason Sollecito and his wife Mollie, Daniel Sollecito and his wife Andrea all of Tonawanda, NY, Carolyn Sollecito of Boston, MA, and Carmella, Andrew, Jonathan, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Sarah, Rocco all of Lake City, FL; and great-grandchildren, Dominick, Marcus, Isabella, and Gabriella Sollecito of Tonawanda, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A private service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either St. Mary's Hospital or the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, NY. both c/o the funeral home.
