Obituary of Julia Olga Coalter

Mrs. Julia O. Coalter, 96 years old, of Midline Road, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born March 4, 1914, in Amsterdam, a daughter of Anthony and Victoria Kisiel Mazurkiewicz and was a life long resident of the area. Mrs. Coalter was employed by Nathan Littauer Hospital as Supervisor of Housekeeping for many years. She was a member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Amsterdam. Mrs. Coalter enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. She was an avid NY Yankees fan. Mrs Coalter also enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, and local Stock Car racing. On December 31, 1935 she married Samuel Coalter. He died August 1, 1975. She is survived by her son Robert H. Robin Coalter of the Town of Johnstown, her daughters Evelyn O'Brien and Elizabeth Savoie, both of Amsterdam, step-daughter Dolores Slezak of Amsterdam, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The Office For The Burial of The Dead will be read by The Rev. Christopher A. Smith on Thursday at 6:00pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4 until 6:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be in the Spring at North Bush Cemetery.
