Obituary of Dolores L. Burnett
Dolores L. Burnett, 81, of Gloversville, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010.
She was born November 10, 1929 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Edward and Rose LaMantia Gray.
Dolores was a graduate of West Palm Beach High School in Florida.
On September 12, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Burnett at the former Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. They enjoyed over thirty six years of marriage until his passing July 25, 1991.
Dolores was employed by the Gloversville Enlarged School District for twenty five years as a Teacher's Aide.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville.
She enjoyed cooking, especially for Sunday dinners with family and friends, reading and vacationing with family. Dolores will be sadly missed.
She is survived by a daughter, RoseAnn McGowan David of Gloversville; a son, Michael S. Burnett of Gloversville; two grandchildren: David Brandow, Jr. and Jennifer Yudin; five great grandsons: Anthony, Nikoli, Colby, Xavier and Ethan; a sister: Louise Burnett Donald of Gloversville and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, December 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A prayer service will be held Thursday, December 30 at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, South Main Street, Gloversville. Interment will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dolores' memory to a charity of one's choosing.
