Obituary of Esther Clemente Clemons

Esther Clemente Clemons, 86, of Glenville and formerly of Gloversville, passed away at Ellis Hospital on December 30, 2010 with her family by her side. Born November 17, 1924, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Lanzillo Clemente. Esther graduated from Gloversville High School and retired from Grandoe Corporation in 1986 after having worked for Mario Papa and Sons for many years. Esther married Harry Clemons on April 13, 1947 and they raised five children together. She enjoyed family get-togethers and picnics on the deck, soap operas, word puzzles and spending the winter months at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida. She always had a smile for everyone she met and loved to tell jokes. Even in the most difficult times that she experienced these past few weeks she would smile when anyone spoke to her. We will miss her very much. Esther was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harry, four brothers, Salvatore Jr, Joseph, Angelo, Albert and three sisters, Teresa Gardner, Mary Aufiero and Mildred Brossie. She is survived by her five children, Harry of Glenville, JoAnn Barna of Austin, Texas, MaryLou Belknap and her husband Brian of Gloversville, Stephen and his wife Karolee of Rotterdam and Timothy and his wife Lisa of Conway, South Carolina. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Stacy Barna and her husband Scot Foltz of Austin, Texas, Brian Belknap and his wife Rosina of Meco, Heather Catlin and her husband Jerrad of Troy, Scott Belknap and his wife Trish of Johnstown, Stephen Clemons and his wife Jessica of Johnstown, Jennifer Clemons of Johnstown, Shalane Sobkowich and her husband Ron of Gloversville and TJ Clemons of Conway, South Carolina. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren. In addition she is survived by her three brothers, Rev. Michael D. Clemente of Schenectady, Frank Clemente of Gloversville and Roy Guliano of Rochester, and one sister, Theresa Cleveland of Chapel Hill, North Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Ellis Hospital, El, E2 and A6 for their care and compassion towards our mother and us. We would also like to send a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of Community Hospice who made the journey easier. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday January 3, 2011 at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 S. Main St. Gloversville. Her brother, Reverend Michael D. Clemente and Pastor, Very Reverend Donald Czelusniak, will con-celebrate. Burial will be in the spring at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y.
