Obituary of Michael A. DiCaprio

Michael A. DiCaprio, 52, of Bulls Head Road, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He is the son of Alfred and Mary Doris Maniaci DiCaprio, born January 21, 1958 in Amsterdam, NY. Michael is life time resident of the area, and a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Bishop Scully, as well as a graduate of Plattsburgh College with a degree in Marketing. He was united in marriage to his wife Colleen M. Hayes, November 24, 1990. He was employed by Electro- Metrics, Inc. in Johnstown, NY for many years. Michael served on the Board of Directors for Liberty Enterprise, and coached baseball and soccer. He also enjoyed his garden, and loved being with friends and family. He was a loving husband and proud father. He was truly devoted to his children, always being there for them. His loving family includes his parents Alfred and Mary Doris DiCaprio of Amsterdam, his wife Colleen M. DiCaprio; three sons, Benjamin M. DiCaprio, Jason M. DiCaprio and Timothy M. DiCaprio all of Amsterdam; brothers, Paul Jeannie DiCaprio of Clifton Park, NY, Ross Shana DiCaprio of Park City, Utah and David DiCaprio of Amsterdam, NY; uncle Ross Maniaci of Syracuse, NY and aunt Rose Tambasco of Amsterdam. Other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at 9:15 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 11, 2010 from 4 to 7 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Contributions in his memory may be made to the NY Organ Donor Network, 460 W. 34th Street, 15th Floor, NY, NY 10001 or in care of the funeral home office.
