Obituary of Frances Kaupelis

Frances Kaupelis, 97, of Waterstreet Road passed away peacefully on her birthday at the River Ridge Living Center LLC where she resided for five months. Born January 12, 1914 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen Savitskas Gritenas. Frances was a life long area resident and attended local schools. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time in her garden. Frances was a parishioner of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman. On January 27, 1939, she married William Kaupelis who passed away in 1981. She was also predeceased by two daughters; Kathleen Kaupelis who passed away in 1942 and Janice Kaupelis who passed away in 1955. Frances is survived by her loving family; a son, William Kaupelis Lydia of Sanford, FL; four daughters, Judith Robert Swanker of Tribes Hill, Marlene Gary Nowicki of Rotterdam, Terry Thom Mayer of Poughkeepsie and Wendy Mike Fuelleman of Broadalbin; a sister Helen Best Mike of Scotia; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the St. Casimir's Cemetery Chapel in Amsterdam. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frances's memory to St. Stephen's Church, P.O. Box 81, Hagaman, New York 12086 or to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
