Obituary of Donald Power

Donald Power, 60, of West Main St,Johnstown passed away February 26, 2018 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. Donald was born on March 7, 1957 to Arnold and Dorothy Power of Amsterdam, graduating from Wilbur H. Lynch High School he was employed for 10 years at Fulmont Community Action Agency as Director of Energy Services. He wed Susan (Hayleigh) Thomas on November 24, 1990, they remained happily married until his passing. Donald is survived by his wife Susan (Hayleigh), daughters; Jessica (Matt) Vickerson of St. Johnsville, Heather (Dylan) Power of Cooperstown, and Rebecca Power of Gloversville. Brothers; Tom (Diane) Power of Hagaman, Jerry (Sharron) Power of Acworth, GA, and John (Cindy) Power of Amsterdam. Sisters; Judy Levandowsky of Hagaman, and Nancy Power of Amsterdam. As well as grandchildren; Jacob, Colton, Hunter, Harper and Skylynn. Donald attended the First Presbyterian Church of Market Street, Johnstown, and was a member of the Johnstown Moose, he was an avid bowler and loved to golf. Don was a proud "PaPa" and truly enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. Don lived each day as if it was his last and truly enjoyed his time here on earth. The family of Donald Power would like to express their gratitude to all the nurses and staff at Mohawk Valley Hospice and Dr. Kevin Cope. The care, comfort and support he and his family were provided with was extraordinary, and will always be eternally grateful. Donald wished to donate his body to science, and was very proud to continue to give even after his passing. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00PM with a Memorial Service at 4:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 37 S Market Street, Johnstown, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078.
