Obituary of Mildred L. Hisert

Mrs. Mildred L. Hisert, age 96, former Gloversville resident, died Friday evening, January 14, 2011 at Diamond Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy, where she had resided for the past three years. She was born October 18, 1914 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Connelly Knoblauch. A graduate of Gloversville High School she later attended hairdressing school in Albany. She first worked at Marcelyn's Beauty Parlor in Gloversville and later was a self-employed hairdresser for many years. Mildred lived in Gloversville for most of her lifetime. She was a member of the former St. Mary's Church and Sacred Heart Church now the Church of the Holy Spirit until she moved to Mechanicville over twenty years ago. She is survived by: her son, Paul R. Cordone, Jr. Francine of Gloversville; six grandchildren, Andrew Cordone, Paul Cordone, III, David Cordone, Deborah Prue, Teresa Albanese and Richard Albanese; seven great-grandchildren and several cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbarann Albanese in 2007. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 17 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
