Obituary of Agustin Serrano

Mr. Agustin Serrano, 57, of Glen Avenue, Amsterdam died peacefully on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Born on June 27, 1953 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Jose and Juanita Rosado Serrano. During the 1960's, Agustin along with his family relocated to Amsterdam where he would spend the remainder of his life. He worked for a time for Bojud Knitting Mills, Adirondack Mills and Inner Knitting in Cobleskill, NY for a time before he retired due to ill health. Survivors include his children; Erika Serrano, Tony Serrano and Anthony Serrano, all of Amsterdam; four siblings, Dominick Serrano, Flor Vasquez, Beatrice Serrano and Milagros Serrano; one grandson, Antonio Mone; his former wife, Donna Serrano; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Miguel Serrano. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 11 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
