Obituary of Nancy Kosiba
Nancy LaGreca "Grandma Nancy" Kosiba, 97, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility.
Born in Amsterdam on November 26, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Mirabito LaGreca. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Nancy was employed as a final examiner for Mohawk Sportswear in Amsterdam before she retired in 1981. She was a parishioner of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and currently Our Lady Of Mount Carmel. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was past president of the Daughters Of Santa Marina. She enjoyed being a member of the Amsterdam "Sisters Of The Swish" in her earlier years. Following her retirement, Nancy was most happy baby sitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her loving family now includes five generations who will always cherish her memory.
On September 25, 1932 she was united in marriage to Alexander Kosiba. He passed away March 20, 1970. Nancy also lost her granddaughter Michele Miller, brothers Dominick, Barney and Albert LaGreca; sisters Lena Messineo, Helen Wyszomirski and Rita Konior and a son in law Michael Miller.
She leaves her daughters; Ann Reynolds and her husband Joseph; Nancy Miller, and Sandra Blodgett and her husband David; grandchildren; Debbie Minch, Joseph and Brian Reynolds, Michael and Dawn Miller, Karen Stephens and Jeffrey Blodgett; eight great grandchildren, nine great- great grandchildren, brother Joseph LaGreca and his wife Margaret and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are Monday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker celebrant. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to the Mt. Carmel Memorial Fund or to St. Michael's Cemetery both in care of the funeral home office.
