Obituary of Mary P. Cookson

Mary P. Cookson, 95, formerly of Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully January 25, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was born June 2, 1915 in Belgium, Michigan, the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Eastwood Pickup. Mary was a former resident of Pawtucket, RI and spent most of her life there. She has been a resident of Amsterdam for the past seven years. She was married to the late Robert H. Cookson, September 16, 1938. They shared a loving 53 united in marriage. He passed away November 9, 1991. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked to do crossword puzzles and loved her companion Danny, her daughter's dog. Her loving family includes her daughter Gayle Churchill and her husband Richard as well as her grand children, Ronald Churchill, Robyn Churchill, Eric Churchill, Kristen Lopez, Michael Cookson, and Cathryn Sheehy. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Robert Cookson, and sister Anne Redden. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Funeral services for Mary at this time are private and will be held at the convenience of her family.
