Obituary of Georgianna Barbara Chirickio

Georgianna Barbara Chirickio 95, passed away peacefully Monday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. She had previously resided at the Hillcrest Springs Adult Home. Born in Amsterdam on March 11, 1915, she was the last surviving child of George H. and Lydia Kruger Casabonne. Her father was the local legend "Cousin George" Casabonne. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Barbara was employed as a sewing machine operator for Collette Manufacturing in Amsterdam for thirty seven years. She loved to cook and bake for her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially her great grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. On August 15, 1942 she was united in marriage to Joseph Chirickio. He predeceased her in 1994. She leaves her loving family; daughter Barbara A. and her husband Clifford Pawlowski of Amsterdam; granddaughter Lynn Bill Fredericks; grandson Jeffrey Michelle Pawlowski; great grandchildren; Ashley Fredericks, and Hayley, Nathaniel and Hannah Pawlowski; nieces and nephews. Services are Thursday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue , followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial which will be offered at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Church. Fr. John Medwid, celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery Co. SPCA or Community Hospice Of Amsterdam both in care of the funeral home office.
