Obituary of Hilda Mae Decker

Hilda Mae Cheney Bombard-Decker, age 79, of Gloversville went home to be with her eternal father and extended family after a long illness on February 3, 2011. She was born in Lake George, NY on March 27, 1931 the daughter of the late Antwine and Laura Ropeter Cheney-Morrison. Hilda loved to doing puzzles and watching game shows. She worked for General Electric in Syracuse, as well as Coleco and in the Glove manufacturing industry before retiring. After her retirement she cared for her ailing husband of 26 years Ronald Decker until his passing in 2003. She is survived by her children, Pamela Stockham Carlton of Syracuse, Ernest Bombard Jr. Kimberly of Johnstown, Bonnie Yorks Albert of Johnstown, Deborah Wager Harry of Caroga Lake, Dana Bombard of Gloversville and Kimberly Aguilera Robert "Nick" of Gloversville. Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren, 11 great Grandchildren, a sister Leila White, as well as a half sister, Sharon Fosmire, several nieces, nephews and stepchildren. Hilda was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery Alan Bombard, a great grandson Matthew Quackenbush, two brothers, Antwine Cheney Jr., Robert Cheney and her step father George Morrison. She will be greatly missed by Kimberly and Nick Aguilera and Andrea and Jordan Russell There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place in the spring in FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home. 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Hilda to the Ambulance Service of Fulton County, 8 Frontage Road, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to a charity of one's choice.
