Obituary of Theresa Giardino

Theresa Giardino, 84, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late John & Philamina Ongaro. After moving to Amsterdam, she married Salvatore Giardino on June 1, 1947. Theresa Worked at Fownes Glove Factory and later at Amsterdam Printing and Litho until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and her pets. She also enjoyed sipping coffee and playing her lotto numbers. She is survived by her children, Richard Charlotte Giardino and Theresa Tim McKnight both of Amsterdam, her beloved grand daughters, Alena Marie Giardino and Kelly Beth McKnight. Her loving dog and companion, Honey also survives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her wit and feistiness brought smiles to every one. She will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Cemetery in Amsterdam next to her beloved husband Salvatore, who predeceased her in May of 1988. At Theresa's request there will be no viewing or calling hours and a funeral service will take place privately at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam NY 12010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, in care of the funeral home office.
