Obituary of Marilyn G. Rieth

Mrs. Marilyn G. Rieth, age 77, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Mountain Valley Hospice. She was born August 9, 1933 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Richard Marsh and Ruth Reid Marsh. Educated in Gloversville schools, she became employed at Hussman Corp. for 9 years and later worked as an inspector at MCA/Universal/UNI in Gloversville for 28 years. Marilyn was an avid doll collector and was a member of the Tryon Doll Club. She loved her home and her family and enjoyed day trips with her grandchildren in her younger years. She was a great animal lover, especially dogs. On October 21, 1950, she was married to Donald M. Rieth who died June 13, 2005. She is survived by: two sons, Michael A. Rieth Norah of Mayfield and Donald W. Rieth of Gloversville; a brother, Phillip Marsh of Florida; two grandsons, David Rieth and Eric Rieth and a great-grandson, Evan Rieth. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kathleen Rieth, and a brother, Richard Marsh. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Kobuskie - Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
