Obituary of Hedy K. Morris

Hedy K. Morris, 62, of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam died peacefully into the Arms of the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2011 following a long illness. Born on September 2, 1948 in Boonville, NY she was the daughter of the late Earl J. Higby and Clara Klosner Higby. Hedy graduated from Boonville High School in 1966 and then went on to attend SUNY Cobleskill where she graduated in 1968 with a degree in food service. Following graduation she worked for Rome City Hospital until 1969. Later in that same year she moved to Amsterdam, NY where she worked for St. Mary's Hospital as an assistant dietician until 1980. On July 22, 1976 she was united in marriage to David C. Morris. Although she suffered from a disability, she tried to be and was a very good wife and mother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, David; two children, Katherine Dermody and her husband Sean of Plattsburgh, NY and Robert Morris of Albany, NY. Additional survivors include cousins, Jack B. Capron and family of Skaneateles, NY, James Capron and family of Old Forge, NY and Kathleen Klosner of Booneville, NY. Hedy is also survived by close friends, Margaret Sharp of Amsterdam, NY and the Henry family of Boonville, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam; where a Service of Remembrance will be held at 6:30p.m. with Chaplain David Pilliod presiding. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville, NY. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hedy K.
