Obituary of Anne Zack

Anne Zack, 96, formerly of Stratton Apartments, passed away Monday at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. She was born August 8, 1914 in Amsterdam, NY and was the daughter of the late Michael and Amelia Ponys Spakoski. She was a life long resident and attended local schools. Anne was a home maker and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She loved to polka dance with her sisters. Anne loved spending time with her family and going to parties. She was a member of the Red Hats. In 1940 Anne was married to Bernard Zack who passed away in 1969. She was also predeceased by her son, Ronald Zack, her daughter Susan Teresco and her sister Stella Lyons. Survivors include a daughter- in- law Mary Zack of Amsterdam; a son- in- law Douglas Teresco of Amsterdam; four brothers Joseph Spakoski, George Spakoski, John Spakoski and Walter Sparks all of Amsterdam; a sister Jane Zielinski of Rotterdam Junction; six grandchildren James Teresco, Todd Teresco, Douglas Teresco, Jr., Joseph Zack, Donna Bryant and Jennifer Phillips; seven great grandchildren P. J., Nicole, Zachary, Alexander, Kate, Alexandra and Giana; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A prayer service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 46 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the St. Stanislaus Memorial Fund, 73 Reid Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
