Obituary of Anthony Bennice
Mr. Anthony Bennice, age 88, of Gloversville, died Monday morning, March 7, 2011 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, MA.
He was born April 27, 1922 in New York City, the son of the late Angelo Bennice and Mary Perella Bennice. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School and later proudly served his country during World War II in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He worked at the former G. Levor and Company and later became employed at N. A. Taylor Company where he retired as sales manager following more than twenty years of service there.
Tony was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and Pine Brook Golf Club. He was also an excellent baseball and basketball player.
He was married to Madeline Perrone in1946. Mrs. Bennice died in 2008. Tony is survived by: two children, Patricia Burton Richard of Plymouth, MA and John J. Bennice of Rio Vista, CA; a sister, Connie Caokley John of Saratoga Springs and two granddaughters, Leslie Burton and Johanna Burton. He was predeceased by a brother, Peter Bennice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville. The Rev. Rendell Torres will be the celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Assoc; Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4; Suite 405; Washington Ave. Ext; Albany, NY 12205.
