Obituary of Frank F. Kardash
Mr. Frank F. Kardash, 89, of Hickory Hill Road, Fort Plain, NY died peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Palatine Nursing Home following a long illness. Born on August 17, 1921 in Herkimer, NY he was the son of the late Harry and Victoria Frazek Kardash.
Frank grew up in St. Johnsville and graduated in 1938 from high school. He then joined the Unites States Army and served proudly from 1942 until 1945. He was involved in the European Theatre of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Buldge.
On August 24, 1946 he was united in marriage to Frances Budnik of Nelliston, NY. They enjoyed over 64 years of marriage. Frank along with his wife, Frances owned and operated a dairy farm in Stone Arabina until their retirement in 1985. He will be remembered for his love of family, hard work ethic and being an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; two children, Ron Kardash and his wife Altea of Fort Plain, NY and Jeanne Kardash of Delmar, NY; two grandchildren, Joe Kardash and his wife Caralee and Ronda Kardash. Additional family members include Samantha and Matthew Kardash, Mike, Sean and Gabby Jackowski, and Shweta and Archana Mane.
He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Kardash.
A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, PO Box 453, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.
