Obituary of Eleanor L. Dunagan

Eleanor Lorenzi Dunagan, age 93, of Gloversville passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Gloversville, NY on November 9, 1917 the daughter of the late Zaverio and Filomena Brugnetti Lorenzi. She was a member of the Gloversville High School Class of 1936, The Church of the Holy Spirit formerly St. Mary of Mount Caramel, Women's Society of the Church, Nathan Littauer Auxillary, Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Club and the 50/55 + Senior Citizens Club. Prior to her retirement, Eleanor was employed by local glove manufacturers. On June 29, 1946, Eleanor married Thomas J. Dunagan of Amsterdam. They shared 41 years united in marriage until his passing on October 24, 1987. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces an nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Senzio, Lorena Oare and one brother, John Lorenzi. Family and friends are invited and may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 a.m. on Saturday March 19, 2011 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A prayer service will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. following the conclusion of calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville. Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
