Obituary of Anne R. Gentile

Mrs. Anne R. Gentile, age 91 of Gloversville, died Sunday evening, March 20, 2011 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. She was born December 8, 1919 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Joseph Salvatore and Angeline DiCiero Salvatore. She lived in Gloversville most of her life and was employed as a glove worker at the former Ambroson Glove Company, Rubin Glove Company and Mario Papa and Sons where she retired from many years ago. Anne was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville. Her favorite pastime was jig-saw puzzles. She was married to Jerry Gentile on July 15, 1939; he died October 4, 1977. Survivors include: two daughters, Roseann Pagano Bill of Gloversville and Barbara Sgambato the late Peter Sgambato of Syracuse; one sister, Lena Christiano of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Daniel Pagano, Deanna Aldrich and Peter Sgambato; three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Rizzo, and a brother, Frank Salvatore. Anne's family wishes to thank the Doctors and the nursing staff at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility for the excellent care that was give to Anne during her residency there. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, 847 Co. Hwy. 122, Gloversville, NY 12078.
