Obituary of Florence Tomasino

Florence Natale Tomasino, 87, formerly of Vrooman Avenue, Amsterdam, passed away Friday at the Bel Aire Care Center in Bellmore Long Island after a lengthy illness. Born in Amsterdam on August 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Petrucelli Natale. Educated locally, she lived here most of her life. An accomplished seamstress, both professionally and personally, Florence retired from Fownes Brothers Glove Company and later was a home maker. She was a parishioner of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a member of it's Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Tomasino in 1981, as well as her brothers James and Lawrence Natale and a sister Rose Romeo. Her loving family includes her sons; Peter and his wife Ann Tomasino of Merrick, Long Island, and Joseph and his wife Lisa Tomasino of Orange Park Fla., grandchildren; Leah Paese, Cheri, Lucas, and Lorenza Tomasino; her brother Frank Natale of Amsterdam and nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence's family is most grateful to the staff at Bel Aire for the wonderful care and concern shown to their mother during her long illness. Services are Tuesday April 5th at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, April 4th from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association in care of the funeral home office.
