Obituary of Brent A. Krohn

Brent A. Krohn, 73, of Reed Hill Road in Fultonville, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. He was born September 23, 1937 in Amsterdam, NY, the son of the late August and Dorothy DeForest Krohn. Brent was a life time resident of the area. He was a 1955 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam and from high school in July of 1955 he was enlisted into the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1958, he worked at Beacon Feed until 1964 when he became a New York State Trooper. He retired from Troop T in 1984. After retirement he became a self employed electrician, his business, Krohn Electric. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Retired Troopers Organization as well as a former Town of Glen Councilman. He was also a member of Town of Florida Reformed Church. He was a hard worker, and he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching foot ball, particularly the New York Giants and spending time with his family and friends. His loving family includes his son Richard Gretchen Krohn of Ft. Hunter, daughters Mary Michael Keegan of Guilderland, Michelle John Egelston of Glen and Jacqueline Bill Morris of New Rochelle; grandchildren Erica Krohn, Vanessa Matthew Morey, Audrey, Grant, Paula and Madeline Egelston, Tillie, Mary and Billy Morris, Katherine, John and Ryan Keegan; his stepmother, Evelyn Krohn; brother Lance Krohn and a sister Dorothy Danaher, and his beloved Aunt Mary Phillips, along with several cousins. He also leaves behind his dog Sammy and cat Orange B. Funeral services for Brent will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10 AM, with Rev.Dr. R.W. Williams will officiate, at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the evening prior on April 1, 2011 from 4 until 7 at the funeral home; where a Masonic service will take place at 6:30p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Mountain Valley Hospice in care of the funeral home office.
