Obituary of Frances E. Horning

Mrs. Frances E. Bartlett Edwards Horning of Broadalbin, fourth daughter of the late Wesley and Edna L. Edel Bartlett , born in West Bush on December 22, 1931, died March 31, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a 1949 graduate of Gloversville High School and a former member of the Fremont St. United Methodist Church in Gloversville. Frances worked at the former Fulton County Bank, F.W. Woolworth and Earl's Variety Store in Broadalbin. An avid gardener she also belonged to the Berkshire Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She is survived by her loving husband Harold E. Horning whom she married October 15, 1955, a special granddaughter, Melissa B. Horning Salisbury Joshua of Broadalbin. Frances is also survived by her children; Kim E. Horning Williams Allen of Oregon, Ohio, and Kari E. Morrison of Gloversville. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren; Kasi, Kelsi, John, Kori, Joseph, Joshua and Kadi, five great grandchildren, one great step granddaughter and two unborn great grandchildren by Kelsi Morrison and Melissa Horning Salisbury. She also leaves sisters; Alice E. Jorgensen of Broadalbin, Leonore E. Bradt of Bleecker and Ruth E. Horning Milt of Gloversville. Frances was pre-deceased by a daughter Deborah Colleen Edwards on November 7, 1951 and a sister Betty-Jean Snyder in 2006. A Memorial visitation will be held 5-7 pm Sunday April 3, 2011 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
