Obituary of Marion M. McKnight
Marion M. McKnight, 94, formerly of Brookside Avenue, passed away Friday morning after a short illness, in the Masonic Care Community in Utica, NY, where she has been a resident for the past four years.
Marion was born June 5, 1916 in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of Raymond H. Millar and Mae Quinton Millar
Marion is the widow of Norman S. McKnight who preceded her in death on June 5, 1976. Norman was a 1932 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch high school.
Marion was a 1933 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch high school.
Marion is a member of the United Methodist Church of Amsterdam, NY. She also retired from Mohasco Corp. in 1977.
She is survived by her two sons and a daughter in law; Norman M. McKnight and Carolyn L. McKnight of Mohawk, NY and Ronald M. McKnight of Amsterdam, NY.
Two Grandsons; Norman H. McKnight and fiancé Tami A. Grygiel of Mohawk, NY and William John and wife Shellie McKnight of Richfield Springs, NY.
Two Great Grandsons; Brandon John McKnight and Jordan William McKnight, both of Richfield Springs, NY.
Marion had several nieces and nephews mostly in the Albany area.
Services are Monday afternoon at 1:30 pm at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The Rev. Greg DeSalvatore of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Internment will be in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice in care of the funeral home office.
