Obituary of Esther Emerson
Esther Emerson 87, of the Bishop Hubbard Apartments, Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully early April 9th at her home.
Born in Worcester, NY she was educated in that area. During World War II she as did many other women, worked at the General Electric Company. She also assisted in the operation of the family dairy farm and later in life, worked for the Keith Clark Calendar Company in Sydney, NY. Her first marriage to Ford Empie produced four children. After his tragic death, she later married Robert Emerson and had three daughters. He passed away in 1984. Esther was a wonderful home maker who loved to bake and cook. She lovingly shared these treats with family and friends. Whenever someone was sick, she was the first to help. Living at the Hubbard Apartments for the past seventeen years, Esther helped deliver newspapers and meals to other residents.
Her loving family includes her children; Lilivene Empie Terry of Walton , NY, John Empie of Arcade NY, Dora Wells of Walton, Judy Tubbs of Monticello, Star Emerson of Lake Luzerne, Mary Schaefer of Pt. St. Lucie, Fla., and Millie Emerson of Golden, Col. Sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, siblings Louise, Jeanette, Wanda, Virginia and John.
Esther was cremated and will rest up north. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
