Obituary of Beatrice J. Whitman

Beatrice J. Whitman, age 83, of Gloversville passed away on Friday April 15, 2011 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home in Gloversville. She was born in Mayfield, NY on April 11, 1928 the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel May Wilson Filkins. In April 1949, Beatrice married Clarence Whitman. They have shared over 61 years united in marriage. Beatrice was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Johnstown. She was also a member of the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center in Johnstown and the Happy Days Adult Daycare in Johnstown. Beatrice was very active in community fundraisers through the senior center. Beatrice is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clarence Whitman of Gloversville, two sons: Larry Whitman of Oregon, Edward Whitman of Johnstown and a daughter, Leona Lineville of Oregon. Additional survivors include several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 20, 2011 with the Rev. John Brunetto officiating. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday May 2, 2011 at Kings Northampton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Beatrice to a charity of one's choice.
