Obituary of Robert A. Gisondi

Robert A. Gisondi, age 67, of Gloversville passed away on Saturday April 16, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gloversville, NY on November 28, 1943 the son of the late John and Mildred Townsend Gisondi. Robert was educated in the Gloversville School District, graduating with the Class of 1961. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church in Gloversville. On January 21, 1965, Robert married Margaret Stuart. They have shared 46 years united in marriage. Robert was a Fulton County Sherriff's Deputy from 1972 until retiring in 1996. He also owned and operated Gisondi Decorating. Bob loved to hunt and play pool "billiards". He is survived by his wife, Margaret Stuart Gisondi of Gloversville, three sons: Robert J. Gisondi Dona of Gloversville, Michael Gisondi Abigail of Victor, NY, Joseph Gisondi Michelle of Cary, NC, five grandchildren: Dalton, Sydney, Bryce, Lila and Leo and three step grandchildren: Bobby, Randy and Jimmy. Additional survivors include a twin sister, Claudia Reed of Tucson, AZ, a brother George Michalet of Phoenix, AZ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, John Gisondi and a sister, Jeanne Ambrosino. Funeral services for Robert are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
