Obituary of Germana Kaczor
Germana "Gerri" Rigatti Kaczor, 69, of Arch Street, passed away suddenly Wednesday at her home.
Born in Riva Del Garda, Trento, Italy, on Dec. 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine Albertini Rigatti. She came to Amsterdam at the age of nine with her family and has lived here since. Gerri was employed for a number of years by Mohawk Lifts until she retired in 2005. Gerri was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She was the trip coordinator for the Mount Carmel Seniors, a position she truly enjoyed. Family was the center of her life and she was a devoted Mom to her two sons and loving "Nana" to her grandsons. As an avid sports fan, she was a proud supporter of all of her grandson's atheletic events. In addition, she was a huge fan of the Amsterdam Mohawks Baseball team and was also a committee person for the NYS Girls Basketball tournament every March at HVCC in Troy. Proud of her Italian heritage, she kept in close contact with family in Italy with visits and regular phone calls and she never missed her Wednesday " Girl's Nite Out" at LaCucina Restaurant. From all your family and friends "Caio & Baci Baci".
On Oct. 31, 1959, she was united in marriage to Richard E. Kaczor, Sr. He predeceased her on May 2, 2000.
Her loving family includes her sons; Richard E. Kaczor, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Troy, NY, and Michael A. Kaczor Jahnel Hall of Amsterdam; her brother John Shirley Rigatti and sisters Maria Bramer and Joan James Thackrah all of Amsterdam, and Ilia Lorenzi of Riva Del Garda, Italy; her grandsons Michael Anthony, Corey Jordan and Kyle Young Kaczor; dear companion Ronald Bull as well as loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
