Obituary of Mary Ann Galligan

Mary Ann Galligan 74, of Guy Park Avenue, passed away Tuesday evening at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on October 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Galligan and Mary Galligan Pilchen. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Mary Ann worked for the Noteworthy Company and also Coleco for a number of years until she retired. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She loved animals especially her dogs and was very close to her nephews. Her loving family includes her brother John and his wife Arlene Amendola Galligan of Amsterdam; nephews John Michael and Joseph Galligan as well as cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her step father, Robert Pilchen. A prayer service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. John Medwid officiating. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or the Montgomery County SPCA both in care of the funeral home office.
