Obituary of Kenneth A. Brubaker

Kenneth A. Brubaker, 71, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. He was born April 4, 1940, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Kenneth and Frances Malone Brubaker. Ken was the owner of Kenneth A. Brubaker Consulting, which was a consultant to the baking industry. On July 12, 1986, he married Terri Hampton, who survives. They would have celebrated their twenty fifth anniversary this July. Ken had a passion for baking and not only made a successful career out of it but received personal satisfaction from it as well. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons as well as the American Institute of Baking. He loved golfing, camping, snowmobiling and cars. Ken also had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Terri Brubaker of Mayfield, he is survived by a son, Airman First Class Kyle Brubaker, USAF of Offutt, NE; three daughters: Kaitlin Brubaker of Mayfield, Lanee Lighty of Mechanicsburg, PA and Heather Utsick Kenneth of Mechanicsburg, PA; three grandchildren: Matthew, Jenna and Maryssa; four great grandchildren; a brother, Richard V. Brubaker Bonnie of New Cumberland, PA; father and mother-in-law Barrie and Nancy Hampton of Mayfield; brother-in-law Barrie Hampton II Melanie of Mayfield; sister-in-law Jennifer Horst Luke of Mayfield and nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken was predeceased by two brothers: Terry Brubaker and Charles Brubaker. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 12 James Street, Gloversville on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Peter Ellis officiating. Interment will be at Union Rural Cemetery in Mayfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 12 James Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
