Obituary of Genevieve Ellen Myers

Mrs. Genevieve Ellen Myers, 93, formerly of Lark Street, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2011 at The Avenue Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre. Born on June 24, 1917 in Amsterdam NY she was the daughter of the late Simon and Helen Pacunas. A lifelong area resident, Gen was a former member of St. Casimir's R.C. Church and its senior group. She lived most of her life in Scotia and worked for 22 years as a payroll clerk at General Electric retiring in 1974. Gen also resided in Wells and Schenectady for a time. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles B. Myers; a brother, Pvt. Edward Pacunas; her sister Anna Pacunas; and a daughter in law, Carol Myers. Survivors include her sons, Edmund Myers and his wife Marlene of Scotia, NY and David Myers of VA; five grandchildren, Sean, Danielle, Craig, Christine and Kevin; and eight great grandchildren, Summer, Grant, Gabriel, Nicholas, Clarissa, Mercedes, Julie and Zachery. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
