Obituary of Robert F. Hale
Mr. Robert F. Hale, 89 of Gloversville, passed away Wednesday May 18 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born in Gloversville on October 13, 1921, son of the late Frank and Hattie Husted Hale. Mr. Hale graduated Gloversville High School and was a life long resident. He was a self-employed meat cutter at the family market. The former Hale's Market was located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Bleecker Street in Gloversville.
Bob's life was centered around his work and family, but he also found time for the Forester's Lodge and was a devoted member of St. James Lutheran Church where he served as financial secretary and was a member of the men's club. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening and cooking. He and his wife traveled extensively.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Suda Hale of Gloversville. Bob Also leaves his daughter, Joye Haskins David of Gloversville, grandchildren; James Pianelli Rebecca and Stephanie Selmer David, and great grandchildren: Lauryn, Karsyn, Brandon and Dean. Mr. Hale was pre-deceased by a brother, Arnold Hale.
A Memorial Service will be held 1 pm Saturday May 21, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church 521 N. Main St. in Gloversville, with Reverend L. David Almleaf officiating. Urn burial will follow in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, or to Nathan Littauer Hospital Foundation, 99 E. State St. Gloversville, N.Y. 12078. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
