Obituary of Harland V. Dillenbeck
Mr. Harland "John" V. Dillenbeck, Sr., 86, of Stone Arabia Road, Town of Palatine, died peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his home. Born in Little Falls, NY on June 13, 1934 he was the son of the late Oliver and Bessie Ward Dillenbeck.
On February 27, 1943 he was united in marriage to the former, Armetta Mosher. Together for 68 years, they raised a large of family of love that has become their legacy. Harland was a self employed farmer who also had many jobs throughout his life time. He will be remembered for his work ethic and his love of family.
He was predeceased by one son, John Dillenbeck and four brothers, William, Herman and Leland.
Survivors include the love of his life, Armetta Dillenbeck; seven children, Earl V. Dillenbeck and his wife Gretchen of Fort Plain, NY, Harland V. Dillenbeck, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Sarasota, FL, Bessie Knoblauch and her husband Everett of Boonville, NY, Oliver G. Dillenbeck and his wife Willie of New Canton, VA, Danny J. Dillenbeck and his wife Nancy of Fort Plain, NY, Burton A. Dillenbeck of Sarasota, FL and Rebecca DeSimone and her husband Michael of Fort Plain, NY; one brother, Chester Dillenbeck and his wife Marion of Fort Plain, NY; 26 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Interment will follow in Rural Park Cemetery in Ingham's Mills, NY. A calling hour will precede the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
