Obituary of John Muscato

John Muscato Jr., age 73 of Gloversville passed away on Sunday May 22, 2011 at Mountain Valley Hospice surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Gloversville, NY on January 15, 1938 the son of the late John an Bernice King Muscato. On May 27, 1961, John married Noreen Staley Muscato. May 27, 2011 would have been Noreen and John's 50th Wedding Anniversary. John worked at various leather mills in the area, as well as Walmart until his retirement in 2009. He was affectionately known as the "Joke Man" and everyone would look to him for a good joke. He was a member of the Johnstown Moose and the Bleecker Fish and Game Club. John enjoyed hunting and was an avid bowler. One of his favorite thing to do, was to go to Saratoga Race Track every summer. John is survived by his wife of 49 years Noreen Muscato of Gloversville, two daughters, Mary Jo House Greg of Gloversville, Kimberly Hohenforst Dan of Gloversville, three grandsons, Justin House, Christopher House, Joshua Hohenforst and two sisters, Mickey Nelli Peter and Barbara Pedrick. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters: Donna Stoller and Judy Nellis. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 24, 2011 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, memeorial contributions may be made in memory of John to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078.
