Obituary of Edward M. Brucker

Edward M. Brucker, 80 of Fonda passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, May 29, 2011 with his loving family by his side. He was born March 26, 1931 in Deer Field, NY, the son of the late William and Yvette Martin Brucker. Ed graduated from Little Falls High School . He was enlisted and served in the United States Army in 1951, he was transferred into the Army Reserve in 1953 and then Honorably Discharged in 1957. Formerly of Ilion, NY he moved to Fonda about 22 years ago. Ed was a proud Veteran and in his later years was a war buff. He enjoyed watching the History channel and his shows, hunting, snowmobiling, hockey, gardening in which he was known for his great peppers. Ed liked to upkeep his home and yard which was the home where he held his most precious moments spending time with his family and friends. Being with his grand children and caring for his family was most important to Ed. Ed was a Sewing Machine Mechanic and worked at the Johnstown Knitting Mill for many years until his retirement in 1995. His family includes his loving companion Debra L. Melita of Fonda, sons Edward W. Brucker of Norcross, GA and Corey Melita of Fonda, a daughter Brooke Smith and her husband Rick of Sprakers, grand children Kaleigh, Kyla and Mason Smith of Sprakers, a brother Francis Brucker of Little Falls and a sister Alice Bennett of Dolgeville. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Ed will be on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 6PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street Fultonville, NY 12072. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4PM until 6PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will preside. Contributions in Ed's memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in care of the funeral home office.
