Obituary of Patricia A. Symolon

Patricia A. Symolon, 76, of Fort Pain, NY passed away June 11, 2011 at Albany Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1934 in Johnstown, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys Harrison Pedrick. Patricia attended Johnstown Schools and soon after she graduated she married her loving husband of almost 59 years, William J. Symolon, Sr. Patricia worked as a banker most of her career and retired as CEO of Canajoharie Building Savings & Loan. Patricia was an avid golfer, belonging to Canajoharie Country Club and Mohawk Valley Country Club, where she spent many afternoons with her husband and other fun-loving ladies. She also enjoyed spending her free time playing bingo and traveling, both with the Duanesburg Seniors group as well as several family trips and cruises. There was never a dull moment when friends were with Patricia. She will be dearly missed by her close-knit family and wonderful friends. Her loving family includes her husband William J. Symolon Sr., her son William J. Symolon, Jr. and his wife Cynthia Meka of East Amherst, daughter Deborah Nellis and her husband Laurence of Fort Plain, grand daughter Holly Symolon of Atlanta, GA and sister, Janet Schreppel and her husband Robert Schreppel of Johnstown. She is also survived by many family members including nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Richard Pedrick and Raymond "Punk" Pedrick. Funeral services for Patricia will be on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11am at Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie NY 13317. Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday evening, June 15, 2011 from 4 until 7PM. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda.
